About
You are welcome here.
Recovery does not look the same for everyone. We want to include all forms of healing; we want to include all forms of you. Wherever you are at on your path to becoming your best self, this is a place where you will belong.
Recovery Institute of Southwest Michigan, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that was founded in 2006. We serve Kalamazoo County by offering peer support to people who have mental health and/or substance use concerns. We provide this service in the form of groups, classes, one-on-ones and social outings.
The recovery process is often strengthened when a peer is involved. Within the recovery community, peers are individuals who have navigated their own mental health and/or substance use issues. Recovery Institute is unique among the range of service providers because we are peer-run and peer-delivered.
Our members are an integral part of our mission. The Recovery Institute Board of Directors is formed entirely of individuals who use our services and who self-identify as being in recovery. Every member of our organization began as a peer who was looking for more.
We hope you check us out soon.
